Careers

We’re hiring, we’re always hiring – because we hire people, not functions.

Our thesis is simple: smaller organizations are more efficient, more fun, and more like family. We’re incredibly picky about who we hire because we believe that if we can find the absolute best candidate – we can accomplish with 100 people what would otherwise take 300.

To work at flytedesk you have to be able to grow into a top 1% performer in your field. That’s mostly a function of hard work, so we don’t ask you to know everything off the bat. We’re proud of what we do to make flytedesk a great place to learn.

We also look for kindred spirits and when we call ourselves a band of merry nerds, we’re only half kidding. We want to know what drives you, we want to see where your moral compass points you, we want to know who you are. This sounds really crazy but building a company is hard and we bleed for each other to get where we want to go – we need to believe you’re worth bleeding for. Perhaps it’s worth noting that while we take our work seriously, ourselves, not so much. If you’re a me-me narcissist, we probably won’t like you.

We look for diverse backgrounds and common threads. There are few things more gratifying than looking around at a group of people who look different, sound different, come from different places and yet all march to the beat of the same drum. Flytedesk is made up of grad school valedictorians and class dodgers, Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts and pro-skiers, sartorialists and people you might mistake for a hobo.

We’re weird, we’re family, and we work harder than anyone else. Come join us.

Supply Intern

September 18, 2018

Flytedesk is the full-service ad buying platform that is transforming college media by connecting brands and college students via an online media buying platform. As the largest media network of college students in the U.S., Flytedesk allows advertisers to reach 20 million students at scale across all on-campus media channels including print, digital, outdoor, social media, radio and more. Flytedesk’s self-serve platform automates the college advertising experience by giving media buyers the tools to create, book, manage, and measure national campaigns in just minutes. Flytedesk was founded in 2015 and is based in Boulder, Colorado.

Overview & Responsibilities

Flytedesk is looking for a self-motivated and reliable intern with a great attitude to join our supply team. The right candidate will be a “jack-of-all-trades” who can jump on a varied set of projects as they come up. You will act as the supply team’s “gopher” - taking on tasks both small (i.e. file organization) and big (i.e. completing sales-related research requests)

Your Team

You will report to Piper Jackson-Sevy, our VP of Growth, and work with Megan Graft (Director of Publisher Development), Leen Obeidat (Supply Operations Associate), and Kit Summers (People & Operations Manager).

Culture

We hire people, not functions. Startups are hard, and constantly changing, so you need to be able to carve out your own role to thrive at flytedesk. We look for self-starters, who can problem-solve as well as they can execute. We look for grit and kindred-spirits, we’re a family and we work for each other to get where we want to go. We don’t want to hire people who just fit into our culture, we want people who help shape it.

We’re asking you to spend a large portion of your life with us, so we want you to have a good time as you’re working hard to help build our collective future. That means endless snacks, a coffee shop house account, birthday parties, dogs in the office, and an expectation that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Values

Our culture is built on a small, but core group of values. When we meet tension points, it’s easy to reference the following values and see what the right decision is. We make a point to call these out in our job descriptions because we’ve learned that someone whose values and motivations are aligned with Flytedesk’s will most likely be successful at Flytedesk (and vice versa). Please take the time to read and understand our values - they’re the biggest indicator if this is going to be a good match.
